Supporting local authorities
Mission Val de Loire supports local authorities in their consideration of the Loire Valley heritage and landscapes and UNESCO listing criteria, at various scales. It provides them with technical and regulatory assistance. Although the Loire Valley Management Plan is a reference document for local authorities, the aim above all is to raise their awareness at an early enough stage so that the criteria feature in urban planning documents.
Context
Pursuant to its strategic guidelines, Mission Val de Loire supports elected local officials in the territory in their consideration of the listing criteria. In this respect, it works in partnership with the decentralised State departments and local authorities.
Jointly with the decentralised State departments, Mission Val de Loire has identified the territorial project development missions it can take on, in addition to the existing structures. These primarily involve participation in the various technical commissions as well as guidance in properly understanding the landscape and heritage issues in light of the listing criteria, using the tools available (webGIS, block diagrams, mapping, documentation, etc.).
Objectives
- Provide support to improve knowledge of areas associated with the Loire heritage, landscape and environment, in connection with the geographic information system developed in partnership with the Observatoire de l'économie et des territoires;
- Participate in the various commissions and debates, to ensure proper consideration of the listing criteria (CDNPS, CRPA, etc.);
- Organise workshops and seminars on the OUV in partnership with the decentralised State departments, to inform local authorities about the tools and services available.
